Lobo's Blender Page

XPaste

This script uses xclip to get the current xclipboard buffer from the X Windows system and creates a new text buffer within Blender. This was the closest I could get to pasting text into blender which is missing from the linux version of blender (ctrl+shift+v on windows) however it lets me paste parts of other scripts into a new buffer which is allot quicker than saving a text file and opening it within blender.

XPaste - Put the X windows clipboard into a Blender text buffer
Add the script to your blender/scripts directory.
Execute this script from the "Scripts->Misc " menu and choose XPaste
Click Paste, the X Windows clipboard contents whould now be in a new text buffer within Blender.
xpaste.py 0.1 First working script. Depends on xclip which you can get here http://people.debian.org/~kims/xclip/
Or try this binary I compiled for x86 linux. xclip
